U Aye Myint (1930–2017) was a respected Myanmar artist and designer known for his deep knowledge of traditional Myanmar art and design. From an early age, he was inspired by the decorative patterns and details found in historic buildings and traditional architecture.
He began his professional career in 1954 and became especially known for his detailed drawings and traditional designs. His work included designs for Myanmar currency, stamps, and other works that incorporated traditional Myanmar patterns and imagery.
Throughout his life, U Aye Myint also dedicated himself to studying, preserving, and sharing traditional Myanmar art and design. His knowledge and work influenced younger generations of artists and helped preserve an important part of Myanmar's artistic heritage.
