Aung Myint

Painter — Founder, Inya Art Gallery

Aung Myint (b. 1946, Yangon, Myanmar) is one of Myanmar's leading contemporary artists. Largely self-taught, he began exhibiting his work at a young age and has spent decades exploring painting, performance, installation, and other forms of art.

He is especially known for his expressive and abstract works, including his well-known Mother and Child series. His work has been exhibited internationally and is held in major collections around the world.

Aung Myint is also the founder of Inya Art Gallery in Yangon and has played an important role in supporting and encouraging generations of Myanmar artists.
